Kindly refer to our earlier correspondence No.PE.129/87/90, dated 20^th June,1989 in which it was reiterated that except under exceptional circumstances necessitating re-employment of technically qualified and experienced personnel, re-employment of retired persons should not be resorted to.

In the C.M's meeting with representatives of All Assam State Government Undertaking Workers' Federation held on 21^st August,1989, it was agreed that in case where Government permission has not been obtained for re-employment of retired persons, the cases would be reviewed.

In view of the above, I am directed to request you to review the cases of re-employment of retired persons where Government permission has not been obtained.

Action taken may kindly be intimated. A list of cases of re-employment of retired persons where Government permission has not been obtained may be sent to this end on or before 1^st October, 1989 so that necessary action can be taken from this end.
