Notification on 50% DA Conversion

NOTIFICATION

Subject: CONVERSION OF 50% DEARNESS ALLOWANCE INTO DEARNESS PAY FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF PROFIT MAKING STATE LEVEL PUBLIC ENTERPRISES.

No. PE. 1/ 06/ 9 : The Government of Assam is pleased to order the conversion of Dearness Allowance equivalent to 50% of Basic Pay into Dearness Pay to the employees of the profit making State Level Public Enterprises of Assam with effect from 01-11-2006 in the manner as specified below:

With the approval of the Board of Directors, the profit making State Level Public Enterprises are to implement conversion of Dearness Allowance equivalent to 50% of the Basic Pay into Dearness Pay in respect of their employees with effect from 01-11-2006, only for the purpose of payment of Dearness Allowance at rates that would be arrived at after deducting the converted 50% Dearness Allowance from the revised rates of Dearness Allowance that may be adopted by the profit making State Level Public Enterprises on being announced by the State Government from time to time, subject to the conditions that the additional financial burden on this score would be borne by the respective Profit making State Level Public Enterprises and no financial support would be given by the State Government for this purpose. All other benefits would continue to be computed with reference to the Basic Pay that was being allowed, in line with the OM No.FPC.12/2004/72 Dated 20-12-2005 for State Government employees. In cases where revision of pay scales is not yet approved by the Finance Department whereby the pattern of Dearness Allowance continue as applicable for non-revised pay scales, the proposed conversion will not come into effect.
